Moved!

Except for some minor fixes, this domain appears to be up and running.  Dear reader(s), please switch your RSS feeds and bookmarks!  I intend to keep the old site and use it to redirect traffic here.  Please let me know what you think about the new design: there’s a lot I can do with it, and I’m curious for any input about what, exactly, I should do.

Still to be done:

  1. Update blogroll.
  2. Change site title in the window title.
  3. Add icon to the site (O).
  4. Move PC & JoJo’s comments from the old site.
  5. Two posts/Sunday.

Rock.

  1. The redirection seems to be working fine – the Lay Science Blogosphere widget is picking up your new feed automatically.

  2. I think the double column of stuff on the right side is a bit too much – makes the layout too heavy on the right and squeezes the ‘real’ content on the left.

  3. Damn! That’s what I was afraid of! I honestly like it… I hope it won’t make you hate the site, Lanfranc…

And Martin – thank you SO MUCH for your redirect information. I searched all over the tubes and couldn’t find it, but apparently you found it in five mins :-)

  4. Is this one of those deals where you purchase the domain name and then attach it to an existing WordPress blog? I’ve been thinking of doing that myself for awhile.

  5. That’s domain association, or something like that… and it costs $20/yr ($10/yr for the domain, $10/yr for the WordPress.com redirection). This, actually, is a little more complicated and a little more expensive… it’s on my own server with WordPress.org software, because I wanted the option to use fancy new plugins. I’d be happy to help you any way I can to fix it!

  6. By which I mean, “any way I can to fix yours if you choose to do that.” Grammar fail.

  7. I’ve wanted to do a portfolio photography blog on my own website, (which is why I’ve slacked on the old photoblog I used to link to with this name) using wordpress.org so I could easily update it…but I haven’t really sat down and tried to figure it out.

You did great at the switch over and getting it all started!
