John McCain continued to put country second yesterday, offering no insights except to compare America’s century-old progressive taxation system to socialism (once, twice). Meanwhile, his campaign sunk to middle school levels of pettiness, disclaiming the part of Virginia that’s swinging the state to Obama as “not the real Virginia.” Great call: further drive away the people you’ve already driven away. If candidates’ campaign style offers a clue to their leadership style, it’s time to ditch the Catty Namecalling Express.

Obama isn’t advocating we stick with our traditional progressive tax system. He is calling for the largest single tax increase on the upper tier in US history (i.e. the people that employee the rest of us) and what little he is going to give back to the people will be in tax credits that target the lower class, not the middle class.

To be honest, considering the deficit/debt, burgeoning because of two wars and bailouts, I highly doubt either candidate will be able to hold onto his tax plan.
