Fun With Poe’s Law: Placing Blame in the Economic Crisis

I have a feeling frequent readers of this site will be able to recite Poe’s Law. Just in case, though, here it is: “Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to create a parody of Fundamentalism that SOMEONE won’t mistake for the real thing.” In other terms:

LIM (Fundamentalism–>∞) Religion=Parody

Yes, I still remember some math from the days before law school. In any event, at the periphery, fundamentalist religion starts to look like a Stephen Colbert mockery of itself. Think Jesus riding a dinosaur. To this guy, it’s not a joke. Think you can tell the difference? Prove it. Is this a parody, or someone’s honest belief? You decide – without the aid of Google:

According to Howard, a conservative estimate of the GDP lost through abortion adds up to an incredible $35 trillion. If you further take into account the number of babies lost to abortifacient contraception like the pill, IUDs, and RU-486, that number doubles. “You can estimate the population shortfall based on earlier birth trends,” said Howard in an interview with PRI, “and a normalization of that over a period of time.” Howard bases his numbers on the direct economic contribution of individuals to the economy.

How does Howard suggest reviving the economy at present? Educate people on the importance of babies—especially pro-lifers. Howard said to PRI that too often, pro-lifers fail to recognize “the complexity of this issue, and how serious and fundamental it is to our whole society.”
