Obama Team Moves to Retire Hillary’s Campaign Debt

History has known its share of sore victors. The Celtic warlord Brennus famously used crooked scales to exact his “ransom” from Rome; the Allies after World War I saddled Germany with a crushing indemnity that lead directly to World War II; and George W. Bush turned his back on his moderate campaign and instead used his razor-thin mandate to grind all Democrats and moderates into the dust. Far rarer is the magnanimous victor, who turns his back on all-out war to and embraces the former foe as friend. Demosthenes’ Athens spared the population of Mitylene despite its wartime treachery; L. Aemelius Paulus conquered Greece just to set her free; and…

Barack Obama asks his web of small-donors to pay down the war-debt of his former rival, Senator Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, calling her his “partner for change.”

Guess who still doesn’t care that the rest of the world has moved on from April 2008.
