Politico Accidentally Tells the Truth

From its “exclusive” on Representative Parker Griffith switch to the Republican Party:

The Obama administration’s decision to scrap plans to build a missile defense shield in Eastern Europe further frustrated Griffith, according to GOP sources, because his district contains the base for Boeing’s ground-based missile defense research.

To hell with high-handed notions of defending our allies with an unworkably complex, futuristic technology: the missile shield was always about pork. Nothing more.

And let’s question whether it’s newsworthy when an Alabama congressman switches to the party with which he already votes, anyways. Expect to see this leveraged as proof of “momentum,” but really, nothing’s changed.
